Our Professional Staff
Our longtime live-in staff truly cares for residents and their families
At Blue Ridge Adult Family Home, we have a professional team who provides outstanding care for our residents. All Adult Family Home staff and providers are required to undergo training in:
Fundamentals of Caregiving
Nurse Delegation
CPR / First Aid
Mental Health and Dementia
Food Handling
Additionally, a Background Check is performed and caregivers must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) card registered with the Department of Health.
Our Caregivers
There are two caregivers during the day and one awake night staff who are certified home care aides. We have a very low turnover in staff. There is a live-in resident manager in a separate apartment. The primary caregivers have been with Blue Ridge since 2006 so they know the residents well and can recognize if there are any changes or issues that are out of character before they become a problem. The owner also lives on-site in a separate apartment on the top level of the home.
Our Registered Nurses
Our Nurse Delegator performs the assessments of Blue Ridge residents, and is the professional advocate for the oversight of their medical and other needs. Additionally, the Nurse Delegator serves as the liaison with hospitals, pharmacies and doctors at a modest monthly fee.
Crown Health is the visiting home doctor service at Blue Ridge. Residents are not required to use a visiting home doctor and may keep their own physician. However, for many family members the travel and time may not be an option, so a visiting home doctor is easier for them.
