About Blue Ridge AFH

At Blue Ridge AFH, we believe senior care should feel personal, comfortable, and respectful. Our home was created to provide attentive, individualized care in a peaceful residential setting where seniors receive the support they need while still feeling at home. Families can feel confident knowing their loved ones are cared for with patience, kindness, and professionalism.
About the Provider
Blue Ridge AFH is owned and operated by Amante Tadique, who has been providing residential senior care in the Seattle area for more than 25 years. He opened his first adult family home in Shoreline, Washington in 1997, gaining extensive experience supporting seniors and their families in a smaller, home-based care environment. In 2006, he opened Blue Ridge AFH and has continued to focus on providing attentive, personalized care in a peaceful residential setting.
Amante lives onsite and remains closely involved in the day-to-day operation of the home. He holds all required adult family home certifications and training, including administrator training as well as mental health and dementia care certifications.
With a background in construction and remodeling, Amante designed Blue Ridge AFH with the goal of creating a home he would personally want to live in. Many features of the home were intentionally built or customized for comfort, accessibility, and safety. Most bedrooms were created specifically for adult family home use, most with its own private bathroom and individual supplemental heating. The home is fully accessible with no stairs, and includes features such as backup power, air conditioning, and safety systems throughout.
The property itself is designed to provide a calm and enjoyable environment for residents and visiting family members. Blue Ridge AFH offers panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, a sunroom overlooking the water, and a fully fenced courtyard garden with walking paths and seating areas. Located on a quiet dead-end street, the home provides a peaceful setting where residents can feel comfortable and secure.
Our Care Philosophy
At Blue Ridge AFH, we believe that quality senior care begins with a calm, respectful home environment where each resident is treated as an individual. Our smaller residential setting allows caregivers to truly know each resident, understand their preferences, and respond to their needs with patience and attention.
We focus on maintaining dignity, independence, and comfort while providing the level of assistance each resident requires. Daily routines, meals, activities, and care plans are adapted to support residents in a way that feels natural and familiar.
Consistency is also an important part of our philosophy. By maintaining a stable team of caregivers and a peaceful home environment, we create a setting where residents feel secure and families can feel confident their loved ones are receiving attentive, thoughtful care.

Our home is designed for seniors who need more support than assisted living typically provides, while still maintaining the comfort and familiarity of a residential setting.
Our Care Team
At Blue Ridge AFH, our caregivers are dedicated to providing attentive, compassionate support in a calm home environment. Each member of our team plays an important role in helping residents feel comfortable, respected, and well cared for.
Most of our caregivers have been with us for years, creating a stable and familiar environment for residents. This consistency allows caregivers to build meaningful relationships with the people they care for and better understand each resident’s preferences, routines, and individual needs.
Our team assists residents with daily routines such as meals, personal care, medication support, and activities, while always maintaining dignity and independence. We work closely together to ensure that every resident receives thoughtful, personalized attention throughout the day.
Each caregiver is highly trained, experienced, and dedicated to preserving the dignity and quality of life for every resident. Families trust our team because we combine professional skills with genuine respect and compassion. All staff complete training in:
Home Care Aide / Fundamentals of Caregiving
Nurse Delegation
CPR / First Aid
Mental Health and Dementia
Food Handling
Each caregiver also undergoes a background check and holds a Home Care Aide certification or a Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) card issued by the Washington Department of Health.
Day & Night Care Services

During the day, two certified home care aides attend to residents, and one awake night staff provides overnight support. Our staff turnover is exceptionally low—many caregivers have been with Blue Ridge Adult Family Home for years. Because of that, they know each resident well and can recognize subtle changes before they become serious. A live-in resident manager oversees daily operations from the lower unit, while the Provider lives on-site in a separate upstairs apartment. In addition, our Nurse Delegator partners closely with staff to provide medical assessments, in-home visits, and communication with doctors, pharmacies, and hospitals.
Nurse Delegator & Medical Oversight

Our Nurse Delegator assesses residents regularly and advocates for their medical and wellness needs. She makes in-home visits and serves as the liaison with hospitals, pharmacies, and physicians to ensure seamless care.

Novari Primary Care is the visiting home doctor service at Blue Ridge. Residents are not required to use a visiting home doctor and may keep their own physician. However, for many family members the travel and time may not be an option, so a visiting home doctor is easier for them.
